Marie Beaulieu will join a group of experts as part of a symposium on aggressions between older adults and will offer a communication on the subject of mistreatment between residents in private seniors' residences in Québec titled "Resident-to-resident aggression in Quebec private seniors’ residences".

A 3,5-hour webinar, bringing together more than 200 participants last March the 29th, allowed 4 lecturers or lecturers duos, including Marie Beaulieu, present their views as part of the meeting Amplifying our collective voices « rights don’t get old » organised by the Elder Abuse Prevention of Ontario (EAPO).

In November 2021, Marie Beaulieu will speak at eight scientific conferences and one knowledge transfer activity for the public at large.

With seven presentations in various symposiums, the members of the Research Chair on Mistreatment of Older Adults put forward the advances resulting from their various research projects.

This one-hour conference entitled ‘Family Mistreatment of Older Adults in Senegal: The gap between discourse and the reality experienced by older adults,’ is based on the doctoral thesis of Mr. Niyonsaba completed in 2018. In French only.

At this international conference, held in Metz, France, and whose central theme is An Inclusive Society and Aging, members of the Research Chair team will spotlight the progress of multiple research projects: some student-led, others supported by funding agencies or linked to scientific commitments.

The defense of the rights of older adults is at the heart of this presentation broadcast nationally by the Canadian Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse.

On November 19, 2020, as invited speaker, Marie Beaulieu broached a subject that is still not documented in gerontology's scientific research, the notion of 'safe spaces, safe places' for 'older women' living with 'sexual mistreatment.'

On October 14, at the SGGE’s first on-line congress, Marie Beaulieu will provide its members with information on the practices of prevention and support for older persons at risk of mistreatment in residential settings during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As one of several activities in preparation for France’s national day of consensus-building against mistreatment on September 23, Marie Beaulieu participated in a web conference on the knowledge drawn from international research on this subject.
