On November 14 and 15 of 2023, the Research Chair on Mistreatment of Older adults has had the pleasure to participate in the Partner's Day to counter mistreatment of older adults (Journées des partenaires pour contrer la maltraitance envers les personnes aînées).

The report " violence, maltraitance et négligence à l’égard des personnes âgées " realised by the Independent expert responsible for promoting the exercise of every human rights by older adults, Claudia Mahler, was published on August 7, 2023 and was presented a the fifty fourth session of the Human Rights Council.

2022 began strongly for the Research Chair with four oral presentations to diverse audiences: health and social services professionals, representatives of community organisations, Service Quality and Complaints Commissioners, etc.

This presentation with two voices, one coming from France and the other from Québec, aims to create a dialogic space allowing to think about ethics in action to counter mistreatment towards older adults.

Each year, the Research Chair on Mistreatment of Older Adults organises awareness-raising activities to participate in this worldwide event held on June 15.

Each year, the Research Chair on Mistreatment of Older Adults participates in awareness-raising activities surrounding World Elder Abuse Awareness Day held on June 15. Here is a partial list of our commitments in 2021.

At the Opening Conference on June 6, from 7:30 pm to 9 pm, the Chairholder, as the guest speaker, will discuss the incentives and obstacles to asking for help in situations of mistreatment or bullying of older adults.

Marie Beaulieu is an invited conference speaker at the Clinique interdisciplinaire de la mémoire du CHU de Québec (C.I.M.E.) (Memory Clinic of the University Hospital Center of Québec City). She will communicate the most recent international scientific knowledge and the latest provincial political and academic advances.  

During the month of November 2021, Marie Beaulieu has spoken as part of eight scientific conferences and a transfer of knowledge activity with a wide audience.
