Based on the results of Isabelle Maillé's research paper, the article published in the official review of the Polish Gerontology Society addresses the experiences of older adults when receiving support from non-profit organisations specialised in the fight against mistreatment.

In August 2021, Marie Beaulieu, Julien Cadieux Genesse and Kevin St-Martin contributed a chapter to the edited collection of authors entitled Promoting the Health of Older Adults – The Canadian Experience.

As co-author, Marie Beaulieu produces two articles in a special edition of Cahiers francophones de soins palliatifs. (French-language Handbook on Palliative Care). They assemble contributions from the humanities, social sciences and health sciences and focus on three different national contexts: Québec, France, and Switzerland.

In an article published in the journal of the Provincial Group of Users’ Committees, Marie-Eve Bédard highlights the results of her doctoral thesis.

This scientific article is based on the research work done by a team led by Sophie Éthier of Laval University, more specifically from the project entitled ‘The mistreatment of older caregivers and the mistreatment of older adults by their caregivers: Acknowledge, Raise Awareness and Prevent, in which Marie Beaulieu was a co-researcher.

Entitled: “Too Grey to Be True?” Sexual Violence in Older Adults: A Critical Interpretive Synthesis of Evidence, this article aims to estimate the scope of the phenomenon and the nature of sexual violence directed towards older European adults. The results are presented in relation to public health policies and the response of health professionals to the sexual needs of older adults.

Entitled: COVID-19 and Residential Care Facilities: Issues and Concerns Identified by the International Network Prevention of Elder Abuse (INPEA), this article focuses on the variability of protective sanitary, political and social measures implemented worldwide, while taking into consideration their direct and indirect implication in the emerging issue of mistreatment and human rights violations of older persons in the COVID-19 context.

Drawing from their academic work, Kevin St-Martin (Master of Social Work student) and Fanta Fané (Doctor of Gerontology student) each published an informative article in the most recent edition of Encrâge magazine.

Titled The Mistreatment of Older Adults: Definitions, public actions and the experiences of stakeholders, this issue of the magazine is edited by Marie Beaulieu (Québec) and Françoise Le Borgne-Uguen (France).
