The World Health Organization (WHO) published, on June 15, 2022, during the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, a list of five priorities to put forward before 2030 as part of the United Nations’ (UN) Decade of Healthy Ageing. It is an international document to which the Chair contributed significantly. Marie Beaulieu is thanked for her important contribution to the development of these priorities by conceptualising them, the administration of the project and the review of the document. The Chair is proud to be associated to the whole process that led to the production of this document and these priorities.
The International Society for Research on Aggression (ISRA) brings together researchers and professionals committed in the scientific study of aggression and violence. The 2022 congress took place from July 18 to July 22 in Ottawa. Marie Beaulieu presided on July 21 a symposium entitled Aggression Towards Older Adults: An Overview and Contemporary Issues.
April the 22th, Marie Beaulieu cohosted the works aiming to define the priorities on the matter of fighting against mistreatment of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Decade of Healthy Ageing (2021-2030). It was an occasion to bring together the governments, the civil society, international organisations, professionals, the academic community, the medias and the private sector to define activities to carry out during a period of 10 years an act of concertedness, catalysis and collaboration to counter mistreatment.
Marie Beaulieu will join a group of experts as part of a symposium on aggressions between older adults and will offer a communication on the subject of mistreatment between residents in private seniors' residences in Québec titled "Resident-to-resident aggression in Quebec private seniors’ residences".
As part of the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing 2021 - 2030, three round table discussions continue the deployment of activities facilitating exchanges between government dignitaries, representatives of international NGOs, universities, the media and private sector stakeholders. The aim is to improve the quality of life of older adults, their family members, their communities as a whole.

On September 8, between 6 and 7 am Québec time, Marie Beaulieu will speak at a multisectoral round-table exchange organised by the WHO in support of the launch of the online knowledge exchange platform of the United Nation’s Decade of Healthy Ageing initiative.
