Over the course of 16 weeks, Marie Beaulieu will present a Tuesday morning segment on Radio Canada Première en Estrie. Her series is entitled ‘Pas d’âge pour vieillir!’
Entitled: “Too Grey to Be True?” Sexual Violence in Older Adults: A Critical Interpretive Synthesis of Evidence, this article aims to estimate the scope of the phenomenon and the nature of sexual violence directed towards older European adults. The results are presented in relation to public health policies and the response of health professionals to the sexual needs of older adults.
As part of a project funded by the Office des personnes handicapées du Québec (Quebec government agency to increase the social participation of people with disabilities) exploring the psychological, material and financial mistreatment of older adults, Maxime Hébert will complete a secondary analysis of collected data.
June 15 of every year is a unique occasion to promote the continued development of a society without violence towards nor neglect of older adults. This day, recognized by the United Nations, is an opportunity to step back and underline the initiatives undertaken in the fight against mistreatment and showcase actions to promote ‘good treatment’ on local, national, and international levels.
