The Honourable Deb Schulte, Minister of Seniors in Canada, launched a two-stage national consultation aiming to create a standard federal policy definition of senior abuse.

The Research Report stems from the project entitled: To Promote ‘Living Well Together’ and Counter Resident-to-Resident Mistreatment: Improving Community Living in private retirement residences.

Each year, the Research Chair on Mistreatment of Older Adults participates in awareness-raising activities honoring World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (June 15).

At the Opening Conference on June 6, from 7:30 pm to 9 pm, the Chairholder, as the guest speaker, will discuss the incentives and obstacles to asking for help in situations of mistreatment or bullying of older adults.
