The World Health Organization publishes a report on ageism as part of the UN action plan ‘A Decade of Healthy Aging 2021–2030’ (April 2021)

The Global Report on Ageing contains the latest findings on this subject, which, unfortunately, has grown in importance since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Its launching is part of the Decade of Healthy Aging 2020–2030, which seeks to ‘bring together governments, civil society, international agencies, academia, the media and the private sector for 10 years of concerted, catalytic and sustained collaboration to improve the lives of older adults, their families and the communities they live in.’

In the coming decade, the fight against ageism will be one of the actions that seek to change the way we think (stereotypes), the way we feel (prejudices), and the way we act (discrimination) when faced with age and aging.
