Publication of an article about the Program GIFT in residence in the September edition of the magazine L’Adresse (Available in French only)

Four times a year, The Regroupement québécois des résidences pour aînés (RQRA) publishes their magazine L’Adresse. In the latest edition published on September 15, the Chair had the opportunity to publish an article giving a glimpse of the Program GIFT ( Goodwill against Intolerance For Togetherness) in residence’s content entitled Program GIFT in residence: equiping yourself to promote goodwill and counter intolerance between residents (free translation of Programme BIEN en résidence : s’outiller pour promouvoir la bienveillance et lutter contre l’intolérance entre les résidents).

This program proposes more then thirty tools and activities aiming to promote goodwill and counter intolerance between older adults living in private seniors’ residences (PSR). It is destined to the management team, staff members, as well as PSR residents concerned about improving the well-being of residents. The Program GIFT in residence was developed following a three year partnership research in collaboration with the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, Chartwell Retirement Residences and the Jasmin Roy Sophie Desmarais Foundation. This research was funded in part by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, the non-profit organization Mitacs and the Jasmin Roy Sophie Desmarais Foundation.
