On May 14, Marie-Chantal Falardeau, doctoral student in communications at the University of Québec at Trois-Rivères, received her Ph.D. after successfully defending her thesis. The final submission of her thesis is imminent. In June 2020, she begins her post-doctoral studies under the direction of Marie Beaulieu. These studies will be undertaken for the Chartwell-2 project.  

This scientific article is based on the research work done by a team led by Sophie Éthier of Laval University, more specifically from the project entitled ‘The mistreatment of older caregivers and the mistreatment of older adults by their caregivers: Acknowledge, Raise Awareness and Prevent, in which Marie Beaulieu was a co-researcher.

Available in two versions, one longer and more detailed, the other more a synopsis, these videos present examples of financial fraud and the resources available to prevent and counter all types of mistreatment of older adults.

Entitled ‘Ageism and COVID-19: What does our society’s response say about us?’, this scientific commentary brings together over 40 worldwide researchers working in the field of ageing.
