On October 1, Marie Beaulieu will give a testimonial as part of a commemorative ceremony in honour of those older adults who died during the pandemic (October 2020)

Themes: COVID-19

Each year, October 1 is recognised as the International Day of Older Persons. A worldwide multitude of activities is organised to promote and acknowledge the value of older persons in contemporary society.

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation Handicap-Vie-Dignité (HCD) is holding a commemorative ceremony in memory of those older adults who passed away during the outbreak.

As part of this contemplative activity, Marie Beaulieu will speak of the knowledge acquired during the first wave of COVID-19 to emphasise that these deaths will not have been entirely in vain.

On this international day, the Chair reiterates the importance of focusing on improving the living conditions of older adults. This involves the steps to fight against mistreatment in synergy with the development of a culture of good treatment on a larger scale.
