On September 29, 2021, Marie Beaulieu spoke before the Parliamentary Committee on Citizen Relations concerning the project to reform Bill L-6.3: An Act to reinforce the fight to counter the mistreatment of older adults and all other vulnerable adults and the oversight of the quality of health and social services.
During her presentation and the period of exchange that followed, Marie Beaulieu addressed the diverse elements that the Chair considers of central importance, such as:
- The diverse components in the definition of mistreatment,
- The expansion of mandatory reporting of situations of mistreatment in specific settings and within groups of persons,
- The addition of organisations mandated to receive a report of mistreatment,
- The inclusion of inspection and investigative mechanisms in all settings where a policy of countering mistreatment is applied.
