On October 28, 2020, the Institut de la statistique du Québec made public a research report entitled l’Enquête sur la maltraitance envers les personnes aînées vivant à domicile (2017-2020) (Survey on the Mistreatment of Older Québec Adults Living at Home, 2017-2020). Over the last three years, Chairholder Marie Beaulieu has contributed to the intersectorial work leading to this first statistical portrait of the mistreatment of older Québec adults living at home.
The project is led by Vanessa Daigle and is entitled Intervenir en milieu de vie et de soins pour personnes aînées en temps de COVID-19: quand l’action tombe sous le sens. It is funded by a MITACS research scholarship and a financial contribution from the Jasmin Roy Sophie Desmarais Foundation.
This scientific article is based on the research work done by a team led by Sophie Éthier of Laval University, more specifically from the project entitled ‘The mistreatment of older caregivers and the mistreatment of older adults by their caregivers: Acknowledge, Raise Awareness and Prevent, in which Marie Beaulieu was a co-researcher.
Entitled ‘Community organizations’ strategies to adapt the delivery of services to vulnerable older adults and their caregivers in a period of social isolation’, this project is co-directed by Valérie Poulin (University of Québec at Trois-Rivières) and Véronique Provencher (University of Sherbrooke).
