The Research Chair on Mistreatment of Older Adults invites you to a presentation of the results of its research project, funded in partnership with the Office of Persons With Disabilities in Québec, entitled ‘Psychological and Financial Mistreatment of  Handicapped Persons in Québec.

At the invitation of Proche aidance (Caregiving) Québec, this webinar is an opportunity to address the latest qualitative data on the dynamics of mistreatment of this particular group. It covers older adults’ vulnerability and risk factors. It allows one to become familiar with the incentives and obstacles when they seek help, discuss the short and long-term consequences of mistreatment, and reflect on their pathways to available services.

Particular attention will be paid to the role of informal and family caregivers in the search for services available for mistreated older adults. The webinar will conclude with a call for action and the sharing of recommendations to enhance the psycho-social response in these situations.
