RESEARCH PROBLEM:

During the elaboration of the Governmental Action Plan to Counter Elder Abuse 2010-2015, the Chairholder initiated a reflection on the way the practitioners’ training was evaluated. In collaboration with researchers from the Quebec Network for Research on Aging (RQRV) and thanks to financial support to cover the operating costs, a systematic inventory and a critical analysis of the content of existing training programs on elder abuse were achieved. Through this work, the Chair will be able to set guidelines to be adhered to when developing a training program.

GOAL OF THE PROJECT OR RESEARCH QUESTION:

Identifying validated training programs concerning elder abuse.

PROJECT ADVANCEMENT:

A database of scientific articles on validated training is maintained by the Chair. For the time being, its main purpose is to guide our knowledge transfer activities in order to choose approaches that have proven successful.
