RESEARCH PROBLEM:
The knowledge on mistreatment is always from a certain cultural context. To this day, there is no assessment made in Québec.
GOAL OF THE PROJECT OR RESEARCH QUESTION:
Highlighting the scientific research conducted by Québec researchers regarding mistreatment of older adults.
OBJECTIVES:
Summarize each scientific article published by Québec authors on mistreatment of older adults, since the very first, published in 1985.
Analyse the content of the documented articles to produce scientific articles.
METHODOLOGY:
- Review all scientific articles written by Québec authors;
- Complete a reading grid of each scientific article;
- Summarize each scientific article;
- Translate into English each of the summaries;
- Post online each of the summaries on the French and English interfaces of the Chair’s website.
- Post online the PDF of the articles when they are available online for free.
- Do a cross-analysis of the data from the summaries with the goal of producing scientific articles about the evolution of the state of knowledge on mistreatment over the years in Québec.
PROJECT ADVANCEMENT:
To this date:
- 146 reviewed articles;
- 141 reading summaries were produced
- 68 reading summaries were revised and published on the Chair’s website (in English and in French)
- A first summary table of the texts from the 90s and 80s’ content is almost finished and ready to be analysed.
