Successfully completed preparatory courses in 2007/2008, and started her Master’s degree in Social Work in Fall 2008.
She completed an internship in Fall 2009 and wrote her thesis in 2010.
RESERCH PROBLEM :
The factual quiz on ageing was developed by Palmore in the 1970s with the ultimate goal of deconstructing persistent myths on aging. Considering the lack of such a tool regarding mistreatment of older adults, Marie Beaulieu proposed to Johannie the development of a quiz focusing specifically on this social issue.
GOAL OR RESEARCH QUESTION :
Developing a factual quiz on mistreatment of older adults, based on the approach developped by Palmore.

- Scientific literature review about the mistreatment of older adults
- Selecting themes for the quiz
- Developing statements for the quiz
- Drafting of the specific text for each statement
WORK PROGRESS :
Johannie completed her essay on the development of a factual quiz on mistreatment of older adults in december 2010. This essay served as a basis for a funded research project and for the publication of the book La maltraitance envers les aînés. Changer le regard (2012) (Mistreatment of Older Adults. Changing Perceptions). Johannie has lectured in the context of several conferences on the topic and has contributed to the drafting of documents related to her essay.
