Marie Beaulieu participates to a series of scientific activities in relation to countering mistreatment towards older adults in France in April and May 2022.

Marie Beaulieu is an invited professor to the University of Western Brittany (Brest) for the first 2 weeks of May. This will be an opportunity to hold seminars and to collaborate with professor Françoise Le Borgne-Uguen, particularly to the finalisation of a special issue of the journal Gérontologie et Société (Gerontology and Society) on mistreatment of older adults which they co-direct.

This visit in Brittany will be preceded by multiple activities in different regions of France. In short, this professional visit in France starts on April 7 by a work seminar of the group PRISM (Promouvoir la Recherche, l’Innovation et les développements des Savoirs sur les Maltraitances)(Association Promoting Research, Innovation and the Development of Knowledge on Mistreatment) in which Marie Beaulieu is the secretary of the executive board. An exchange of knowledge and practices with a perspective France-Québec will bring together the members.

Then, the week of April 11 will be dedicated to exchanges between the Commission de lutte contre la maltraitance et la promotion de la bientraitance (Commission to Counter Mistreatment and the Promotion of Wellness Care) of France and the Research Chair on Mistreatment of Older Adults.

After the Easter break, multiple meetings will occur in Paris with different actors committed to countering mistreatment. Then, from April 25 to 27, Marie Beaulieu is received by the Chair SIAGE (Sociétés inclusives et avancée en âge) (Inclusive Societies and of Advanced Age) of the University of Lorraine (Metz, France). This will also be the occasion of a pronouncement of a public conference on April 26 accompanied by an exchange with respondents of different sectors (researchers and committed actors) and coaching meetings in a doctoral program.

Finally, on April 28, an exchange day in Paris will occur with different teams of researchers of the research project TACT (Traitement des alertes de maltraitance en coopération sur les territoires)(Treatment of Mistreatment Alerts in Cooperation on the Territories).
