A Webinar on Financial Fraud (scams) has been produced by Elder Abuse Prevention Ontario and is available for viewing free-of-charge (in English only) (April 2019)

Focused exclusively on the financial fraud of older adults that uses the COVID-19 pandemic as a pretext, this webinar, explores:

  • The new strategies of financial fraudsters using COVID-19 as a pretext;
  • Protective measures to put into place when someone is trying to defraud you;
  • Where to report any attempt to defraud you or someone you know and which organizations that offer support and help (in Ontario and Canada at large)

The Research Chair invites you to consult the news report published on our website entitled:  Redoublez de prudence concernant les fraudes financières envers les personnes aînées durant cette pandémie de la COVID-19. (Increase your vigilance of financial fraud targeting older persons in this period of the COVID-19 pandemic) to learn about available resources in Quebec.

You can also download a list of free and confidential resources available in Quebec that can be of help (mistreatment, bullying, domestic violence, suicidal thoughts, etc.).

*Please note that, due to the exceptional circumstances arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, many offices are working at a reduced capacity. The availability of proposed resources may vary.
