Three Chair’s students completed their master’s essay in Social Work. (July 8, 2016)

Themes: Students

Although these three essays are related to mistreatment of older adults, each of them deals with a different topic. Audrey did her master’s internship with Respect Seniors, a Belgian-based organization. Her internship was aiming at examining the effects of the In Hand-Respect Seniors Practice Guide on the practice of psychosocial practitioners within the organization. As for Jessica, the master’s internship within the Chair has allowed her to gain skills in developing practice guides. She then wanted to deepen this field of expertise by reflecting on the creation and the use of practice guides adapted to social services. The “social craze” for the issue of bullying has strongly influenced Marika Lussier-Therrien’s internship and essay topic. In order to respond to measure 5.2 of the Concerted Action Plan to Prevent and Counter Bullying, she decided to focus on documenting the older adult bullying phenomenon as part of her essay.

Over the next year, each of them will publish at least one scientific article in order to promote the knowledge they have developed.
