The Chair was promoting knowledge transfer towards seniors during March and April.

Two conferences were held in the Montérégie region on March 19, 2015. The first one, given by Jessica Calvé and Marie Beaulieu, was intended for seniors from the Maison des aînés de Laprairie (seniors home in Laprairie, on the south shore of Montreal) and was entitled: Négligence et auto-négligence des personnes aînées: connaissances et défis d’accompagnement (Neglect and self-neglect of older people: knowledge and support challenges). The second one was intended for retired teachers who are members of the Association des retraitées et retraités de l’enseignement du Québec (AREQ) in the Montérégie region. This conference given by Marie Beaulieu was entitled: La maltraitance : Quelques pistes pour savoir la reconnaître (Some hints on how to recognize signs of mistreatment). This same conference was also given to members of the Association des retraitées et retraités de l’enseignement du Québec (AREQ)of the Laval-Laurentides-Lanaudière region on April 7, 2015.

These opportunities for disseminating knowledge to seniors are very important for the Chair, because they are the ultimate goal of all research work!
