Themes: Conference

On November 22 a symposium took place in Montréal “À la rencontre de la diversité : Comment intervenir face à la maltraitance envers les personnes aînées des communautés culturelles “. It was the first symposium organised by Louise Buzit Beaulieu, national coordinator specialised in countering mistreatment towards older adults from cultural communities.

Many speakers took part in this day which brought together about 150 participants. Marie Beaulieu, Chairholder, was invited to do two presentations. First, a conference entitled : ” L’état des connaissances quant aux interventions face à la maltraitance envers les personnes aînées d’origine immigrante “, then a workshop about the results of the DAMIA project and the content of the practice guideline DAMIA. Elements specifically about the cultural communities were highlighted during this workshop.

The day as a whole was a great success!
