The third annual meeting of local committees from the Estrie region to counter mistreatment of older adults was held on November 19, 2014. In attendance were the members of the committees of the following RCMs*: Les Sources (Benedict Harvey), Coaticook (Danielle Lamontagne) and Sherbrooke (Anne Caron), the Coordinator of the organization called DIRA-Estrie (Lucie Caroline Bergeron), a representative from the Sherbrooke Municipal Housing Office - SMHO (Marylene Croteau), two police officers from the City of Sherbrooke Police Service (Nicole Levesque and Isabelle Gendron), as well as the regional coordinator to counter mistreatment of older adults for the Estrie region (Paul Martel).

The launch of Préposés aux bénéficiaires et aides-soignantes : entre domination et autonomie edited by François Aubry and Yves Couturier was held on September 9. This book addresses the core elements of the work of beneficiary attendants and health care aides as currently performed in Quebec, Belgium and France. It aims at highlighting the issue regarding the increased accountability of these professionals despite the lack of recognition of their practice and in a context almost free of opportunities to develop their competences.
