On September 27, Marie Beaulieu, Chairholder, will present a conference in collaboration with Sonia Gilbert (Centre jeunesse de la Montérégie) (Youth Centre of Montérégie)

Themes: Conference

It will be entitled: Lutter contre l’âgisme : agir en prévention de la maltraitance envers les personnes aînées (Countering Ageism: Acting in Prevention of Mistreatment of Older Adults). The conference will take place as part of the Réseau provincial des comités des usagers (Province Network of Users’ Committee) (RPCU) in St-Hyacinthe, at Québec’s congress.

Summary of the conference :

Society is more and more concerned with mistreatment towards older adults. Mistreatment has no age, it happens everywhere; children and teenagers can also experience mistreatment. This conference aims to show the similarities and the differences related to mistreatment towards these two population groups (older adults and the youth) and start a reflection from a more global perspective, about this upsetting reality.

The main theme is De la réflexion à l’action! (From Reflection to Action!) To consult the program of this two day congress, visit the RPCU’s website (French Only) : http://www.rpcu.qc.ca/fr/act-congres-programme.aspx
