Martine Noreau was hired as coordinator of the research project “Arrimage” (Securing)

The new coordinator of the research-action project “Arrimage” (Securing) began her duties on August 27. This research-action project with a duration of three years aiming to document and to model intersectoral work of countering mistreatment towards older adults from the innovative practices that are being tested in the region nord-est de Montréal. The model will be implemented, its effects will be evaluated and a final model, improved by the contributions gathered as part of the research-action, will be distributed.

The particularity of the project is its realisation in partnership with multiple instances in the field, such as the Service de police de la ville de Montréal (SPVM), the CSSS in this territory, community organisations (such as the Carrefour Montrose through its program SAVA (Soutien aux Aînés Victimes d’Abus)(Support to Older Adults Victim of Abuse)), regional coordinator of the Plan d’action gouvernemental pour contrer la maltraitance envers les personnes aînées 2010-2015 (Governmental Action Plan to Counter Mistreatment of Older Adults 2010-2015), among others.
