Marie Beaulieu is inducted into the Royal Society of Canada. (September 17, 2017)

Themes: Award

This honour is the most significant award that can be won by an academic working in the fields of arts, literature and science. As part of the annual Celebration of Excellence event, the RSC Academies will host the 89 newly elected members, including Ms. Beaulieu, on November 24, 2017, at the Fairmont Hotel in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Founded in 1882, its mission is “to recogni[s]e scholarly, research and artistic excellence, to advise governments and organi[s]ations, and to promote a culture of knowledge and innovation in Canada and with other national academies around the world.” (RSC’s Website). Maryse Lassonde, President of the RSC, declared that « during the 150th anniversary celebrations of our country, we are particularly proud of these outstanding scholars, artists and scientists whose career contributions have been extraordinary. »

The entire team of the Chair wishes to congratulate Marie Beaulieu for this wonderful acknowledgement.
