A summary of the work realised on mistreatment in Québec is in progress. (February 17, 2016)

The Research Chair on Mistreatment of older adults has for objective to develop and distribute theoretical knowledge regarding mistreatment. To achieve that, in 2011 we started a project entitled: Veille scientifique internationale et québécoise. The objective is to create a bank of scientific articles written by Québec researchers and by international researchers that we will make available to the general public on our website. This bank, that we call Scientific watch, is regularly updated and can be used for diverse projects conducted within the Chair.

To distinguish where the articles come from, we made an International scientific watch and a Québec scientific watch. We undertook the task of highlighting articles written by Québec researchers by making summaries that we gradually make available when they are completed.

This work allowed us to realise that Québec researchers have been writing scientific articles about mistreatment towards older adults for nearly 35 years. To this date, 145 references were selected (1983 to 2015). The quantity of knowledge is phenomenal. During the autumn of 2015, a student of the Chair was mandated to start an analysis of these publications with the goal of producing a summary of the evolution of knowledge about mistreatment of older adults in Québec. This summary will be used as a base for diverse publications in 2016 and 2017. Stay tuned!
