On November 29 at 1:30 pm in the auditorium of the Sherbrooke Research Center on Ageing, we are immensely pleased to offer you the official DAMIA Practices Guide – Maximizing awareness-raising activities to increase understanding of the mistreatment and bullying experienced by older adults.

This guide is the result of a research-action project jointly led by the Research Chair on the Mistreatment of Older Adults and DIRA Estrie (Help Center for Mistreated Older Adults).

This project is financed by the Quebec government “Quebec Age-Friendly Program” and will be completed December 31, 2018. The project’s principal objective is to enrich awareness and promote help for older adults experiencing mistreatment or bullying. Therefore, we are pleased to offer a practical guide that answers the needs of community organizations involved in countering the mistreatment of older adults. The first section is addressed to administrative personnel and coordinators of community organizations; the second to those directly offering awareness activities.

Following the launch, a PDF version will be available for download at no cost on the websites of the Research Chair on the mistreatment of older adults (www.maltraitancedesaines.com: section des Productions écrites) and DIRA-Estrie (www.dira-estrie.org).

We await the official launch of this guide with great anticipation!
