On October 24, the conference “Together... promoting quality of rights of residents” will be held by Handicap Vie Dignité (HVD). Sponsored by the Hélène Rumak Fund, this day will focus on the rights of residents and how to advocate for them, in public long-term care settings.

In addition to being on the event’s organizing committee, the Chair will participate in the various activities of the day. Indeed, Chairholder Marie Beaulieu will take part in the opening conference animated by Johanne Ravenda, President of Handicap Vie Dignité, which she co-founded alongside the late Hélène Rumak. Marie-Ève Bédard, who completed her doctoral thesis with the Chair, will co-host a workshop on La portée et les limites des actions des comités des usagers dans le traitement des situations de maltraitance envers les personnes aînées ou vulnérables (The scope and limits of users' committees when addressing situations of mistreatment of older or vulnerable adults).

The registration period for the day is in progress. Note that there is a live broadcast planned for people who are unable to attend in person and video footage will be available afterwards. Conferences and workshops will be available in both French and English. Visit the HVD website for more details.
