From July 23 to 26 the 9th working session was held of the Open-ended Working Group on Aging at the United Nations in New York. This working group is interested in the rights of older adults, more specifically towards the development of an international convention on the rights of older adults.

Marie Beaulieu will participate as a member of the civil society, as the North American representative of INPEA (International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse). She will make a point in plenary on July 25 on the protection of rights of individuals in long-term care facilities based on the thesis of Marie-Eve Bédard, completed in the spring of 2018 with the Chair. Ms. Beaulieu will also be a speaker on July 25 in a midday conference organized by INPEA to discuss attacks experienced by residents in long-term care, inspired by Roxane Leboeuf's scoping review in the ongoing development of her doctoral thesis.

For more information on the activities of this session, visit the Working Group's website.
