From February 1 to 10, 2017 was held the 55th session of the Commission for Social Development of the United Nations (UN) whose work focused on Strategies for eradicating poverty to achieve sustainable development for all.

Among the activities organized, one focused on combating elder abuses in the 2030 agenda for sustainable development. Marie Beaulieu got the UN annual ground pass in December 2016 to represent civil society on behalf of the INPEA (International Network for Prevention of Elder Abuse). She was invited to participate in this activity. Thus, on February 1, 2017, she gave a conference on Actions to Counter Financial Exploitation of Older Persons: Some Innovative Practices Implemented in Quebec.
