For the third year, the Partners Forum was held in Laval, on October 11, under the following theme: "How to do it together". The Chair attended this Partners Forum.

Dr. Réjean Hébert, Minister of Health and Social Services and Minister responsible for Seniors opened the meeting. Marie Beaulieu, the Chair holder for the Research Chair on Mistreatment of Older Adults and Denis Bourque, the Chair holder for the Canadian Research Chair on Community Organization at the University of Quebec in Outaouais (city of Gatineau) recounted the 30-year history of fighting mistreatment against older adults in Quebec. Catherine Ferembach, the Assistant Deputy Minister presented the third year of the implementation of the Plan d'action gouvernemental pour contrer la maltraitance envers les personnes aînées 2010-2015 (Government action plan to counter mistreatment against older adults 2010-2015). Afterwards, Paul Martel and Robert Simard, Regional Coordinators for the Estrie and Capitale nationale regions for issues regarding mistreatment against older adults introduced the Guide de référence pour contrer la maltraitance envers les personnes aînées (Reference guide to counter mistreatment against older adults). A brief presentation was made on the Age-Friendly Cities (AFCs) approach and measures to counter mistreatment as well as to counter ageism taken from the MADA Action Plan. Then, Martine Lagacé, Associate Professor at the Department of Communication at the University of Ottawa and Catherine Geoffroy, President of the l'Association québécoise de gérontologie (The Quebec Association on Gerontology) introduced the theme: How to do it together: to counter ageism. Finally, the activity ended with a workshop on ageism and mistreatment.
