The report Recherche de cas de maltraitance envers les personnes aînées par des professionnels de la santé et des services sociaux en première ligne (Mistreatment case findings of older adults by frontline health and social services professionals) was recently released. In the framework of the Plan gouvernemental pour contrer la maltraitance envers les personnes aînées 2010-2015 (Government Plan to counteract mistreatment of older adults 2010-2015), the Chairholder started to reflect on the validity of several screening tools (case findings). In response to a special mandate of the Ministry of Health and Social Services, in partnership with Pierre Maurice and Julie Laforest (INSPQ), Marie Beaulieu and Louise Belzile have thoroughly continued the work. Fifteen validated tools of mistreatment case findings of older adults that can be used by frontline practitioners were identified and analyzed for their psychometric qualities. The report also includes a section on the training and the implementation of programs to detect mistreatment situations. The research report is now available online:
